Well business is picking up. I'm not sure why but I appreciate my clients. They love my one of a kind designs and that's what my goal was. Just to make people smile. RIP Bill Austin. Morning show DJ in the valley for 20 years. Cancer. I hate cancer, it has taken so many family members from me. My grandma has it now, but hopefully it is just like the one she had removed about three years ago and everything will be ok.

I went golfing yesterday with Jim. My gosh it was hot out there! I didn't play all that well, but I love to be out with my husband and we had a great time. Enjoy the rest of your day, I'm off to get descriptions of jewelry for the silent auction portion of the Wine Tasting event on Saturday. Hope to see you there! www.folaz.org

I would like to take a moment to thank all the men and women who have served, some of which gave the ultimate sacrifice and those who are currently serving to protect our country. I love my country and could not imagine living anywhere else. God bless all of you.

I can't believe the year is almost 1/2 over. I have not made any beads since January! I have missed working and hope to go back to work. I have way too much experience and knowledge not to be putting it to good use. I enjoyed the challenge and daily interactions with others. Exciting stuff. Stay tuned!

Sadly, so far this year has not been very good to me. I lost one Uncle (Russell), two Aunts (Barbara and Mert), my only sister Diane and my father Norman Robert "Sonny" Berg Jr. I have spent a great deal of this year in my hometown of Rock Island, Illinois. My mom moved out of my childhood home and into a really nice home and I have a brother that is able to stay with her and help her out. It's a two story with a finished basement so he has a nice living area all to himself. I did a lot to help them to get her comfortable and now my four remaining brothers are going to have to work on getting the other house sold. It is a lot to deal with for all of us. It is hard to be creative when I have my thoughts somewhere else. I just need time to try to heal the heartache. I am thankful for my husband Jim, my children and grandchildren for loving me through all this and being very supportive! My friends have been my rock as well, Sue M., Susan B., Mary F., Janice B., Kari L., Sheri D., Lindy C., Shari H., Ina P., and so many more. I am blessed in so many ways. I am hoping to begin making beads and jewelry soon and will be back to my old ways. I am so glad to have the opportunities I have and all of you who support me.

Sincerely, Kristine

I love this picture of my granddaughter Mary and wanted to share it with everyone. I will be making beads so if you have any requests please share them with me!

Ok, with all the rage being facebook, twitter, and all the other new social netorks making the scene it is very difficult to keep up. I have been stressing over how do I keep all these pages up to date. It isn't going to happen people, it isn't realistic! I have a family to give my attention to and that is first and foremost, then comes my friends. I will be here, and I will update and make beads and all that fun stuff, but it is what it is and there is always someone out there ready to stepin and grab your thunder. I want to empower women to help each other and I just have a hard time with those that get in my way. I can't dwell on that too much or it will eat me alive. So if there isn't anything here, try looking at the little icons on the left and see if I posted on my social pages or visit my Etsy shop shown on the right. I love having my own web page and we will see where I go from here.

My mother Betty and my grandmother Mary

6-18-2009

While I was in Illinois visiting my family in June 09, I went to see my grandma who was then 97 (she is 98 now). She is doing well. Her sense of humor has once again surfaced. I asked her what she wants to do while I am here and she promptly said, "Let's go make a million dollars!" I am not sure how I will accomplish it, but I guess I better get going!
